I have been shooting only a relatively short time and some three years ago I decided to shoot animals. Mainly wild animals such as big cats and I have fallen in love with these animals since but it a big learning curve. I was fortunate to attend the launch of this Olympus camera in Ireland last year and would love to see how this could improve my animal photography. I would like to go on to help with endangered species by bringing their challenge to the viewing public through photography.
I'm a full time Health Care Support Worker in NHS, and a Landscape Photography enthusiast. I got my first digital camera in late 2009 and started taking pictures of sunsets, beautiful scenery with friends and on my travels. Since then, the passion has been growing and I've learned techniques through online forums, internet tutorials and reading photographic magazines. Even with a hectic work schedule, I still manage to find time for travelling and taking in beautiful sceneries to hone my techniques.
My name is Emma-Jane and I am a dreamer of realms, also known in the real world as a fashion and conceptual photographer in East London. However not London born and bred, I am a country girl born in Devon where unfortunately not much fashion work arose! I have a million miles to go in regards to where I wish to be with my work, especially in a city with such huge competition. But I feel what sets me apart is my conceptual eye. I'm, passionate about seeing the emotion and connection with models, trying to see things others do not and get my viewer to see an emotion or draw on an event in their own life. Creating large scale, dream like images is what I fell in love with about photography.
How do you write a bio for yourself when you're still at the beginning? I'm not sure if I'm a photographer yet - I think I'm an artist who likes to use a camera. Oh, and I love style. I love style and people. Especially stylish people with a whole lot of attitude. If you can find me these people - then I want to photograph them. For me style is an essence. It's not just what clothes you're wearing but who you are and how your soul shines through. Why shoot in a studio when there's that amazing street you found last weekend? I guess these elements come together to represent who I am and what I love.
